This production was a major turning point in my career. It was challenging on many levels, and it’s a job that I will never forget. The “Let Yourself Woah” campaign was the first work we produced after winning the Universal account in 2019, it was literally a year in the making. Starting from scratch, we reimagined the brand’s look, feel and tone of voice, and we pushed them even further on production.

By the numbers, here’s what the organized chaos looked like: 1.5 months of production planning, 2 languages, 2 parks on 2 different coasts, 2 celebrity spokespersons, 3 creative teams, 3 campaigns, 3 brands (Hollywood, Orlando, and National; aka 3 sets of clients), 3 directors, 4 units filming simultaneously, 7 shoot days, 90+ principles cast, a $5M budget. I lost a lot of sleep, wore the rubber off my sneakers, and guzzled a little tequila, but it was definitely all worth it.

“Power of Drive”

This was a follow up from “Land of the Driven”, introducing the new partnership between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Goodyear. Both born and bred in Ohio. This was particularly special for me, as it combined two of my loves; spots and production.

Got the chance to work with the lovely Judy Greer for this Hilton Garden Inn campaign. We shot 8 spots in a 10-hour day, with 4 different set-ups. Talk about being ambitious. But boy oh boy, we did it! We couldn’t have pulled this job off without such an amazing team (fun fact: it was 90% female). Charcuterieeeee!

Am I a huge fan of speed and muscle cars? Absolutely. I'm also a questionable driver who's check engine light is always on? Mmmaybe. (But trust me, the irony isn't lost on me.) So I was super-stoked when I found out I was going to be working on Dodge. The timeline for this one was faster than a Hemi quarter-mile. Within 2.5 weeks, the spot was concepted, approved, shot, and finished. We had to track down this exact silver Durango SRT with racing stripes, red interior, and a Uconnect media center, then have it shipped across the country in 2 days. If they would've let me drive it, I would've had it there in 24 hours, but it's probably better they didn't.
Fun fact: We shot this in an official World War II hangar that still has the original plane that bombed Normandy. It was an adrenaline-fueled day full of peel outs and history.

“Boneless Dance Off”

This was probably one of the wackiest and funniest jobs i’ve worked on to date. The mission: come up with an idea to show appreciation for Popeye’s boneless wings. The solution: air dancers. Yes, those wacky-ass inflatable dancing machines you see outside of car dealerships and car washes. We had 6 days to not only come up with this crazy idea, but also find a production company (to fly to TX last minute) and execute it. Even though we shot this in the Texas sun, the set was full of laugher all day long, how could it not when an inflatable dancer is twerking and dropping it like it’s hott. We pretty much made a rap video with air dancers and I was Puff Daddy. Good times.

What could go wrong when cooking up some delicious crepes with your boo? EVERYTHING, if you are not chef Gordon! But for real, crepes are hard to make and that’s what this couple attempted in their Homewood Suite. Homewood wanted to feature two of the many amenities they have, one of them being their spacious kitchens and if all fails, they got free breakfast everyday.

“Heart of Travel” Southwest created an immersive online experience that turned the time they spent in the air with Southwest into personalized interactive works of art. Over a million unique experiences were created, where every piece of flight data became a brushstroke connecting them more deeply to the brand. This video shows the making of Heart of Travel with digital artist, Joshua Davis and Director of Brand Communications (Southwest), Helen Limpitlaw.

“Max 8”

“Wanna Get Away”

This was the first social installment for Southwest’s iconic Wanna Get Away campaign. We were bringing embarrassing moments from big to small screens.

For this campaign, Hilton Hotels wanted to target business travelers and open a world of amazing amenities, that empowers the business traveler to “carpe diem”. After finishing a long day of meetings and coming back to the hotel, you can’t help but ask yourself “what would the boss do”? THE BOSS WOULD BALL SO HARD.

We shot both of these spots in the beautiful, Mexico City (mother land) and we were able to get this done all in one day. It was a jam packed day, full of several location moves (with in property) and set ups. The best part was the monsoon that surprised us on our last scene, that happened to be outside on the rooftop restaurant. Gotta love mother nature.
